I haven’t counted, but most of the job ads mention that the applicant should be a team player. Is it really a selection criterion, is it some kind of filtering statement that prevents the lone rangers from applying or does it suggest the working environment and how to fit in?

Ik had onlangs de ‘eer en het genoegen’ op de prestigieuze campus van HARVARD in Cambridge USA, een training rond ‘mediation’ te volgen.

In kranten en tijdschriften zelfs de betere, lezen we meer en meer ‘onjuistheden’…met een nog amper merkbaar verschil tegenover ‘onwaarheden’.

I’m not gone give any personal opinion about Yves Leterme as a politician.
We all know he did a bad job in 2008 but I’m willing to believe that he has learned a lot in the meantime and that he is going to do a lot better now .
But he could/can only change himself ( even that is already a difficult job !) changing the ¨public opinion is a lot different…certainly when you see that Globally .

Ik hoorde onlangs 4 getuigenissen van zakenmensen. Ze vertelden respectievelijk over hun persoonlijke ervaringen in Brazilië, Rusland, India en China….
Iedereen waarschuwde ons voor hetzelfde:” weet dat deze mensen nooit neen zeggen…Eigenaardig toch dat er zo veel mensen in de wereld zijn met ditzelfde ‘onvermogen’

* 20 november “ Je meent het niet dat het mogelijk is dat Leterme weer jullie eerste minister wordt, die bakt er toch helemaal niets van”….dixit ieder waarmee ik die ochtend gesprekje aanging over het Europese nieuws..

1. India is now starting to be interested in Europe for working out business relations; USA is not the only focus any more
2. Somewhere you can compare the diversity of India with the one we have in Europe: lots of different languages, cultures, legal entities, democracy,…

I found some interesting article in a marketing magazine:
A European company organised a party for their Chinese employees ( in China). Very big thing,: cocktail bar, snacks live music, dance floor, drivers..
One of the directors was complaining:
“ These employees don’t appreciate anything. All of them they were just hanging around in little groups without really talking to each other, no drinking, no dancing…Chinese people, we better just give them money. It’s obvious they just care about that”

Deze week werd in ‘De Laatste Show’ gesproken over de strenge voorschriften die vrouwen moeten volgen na de bevalling. ( Ze mogen een maand niet buiten, ze mogen zich niet wassen, baby mag met niemand contact hebben enz..) Het was bijna lachwekkend.
